Crowd Behind Global FC v Kaya FC

Last night’s United Football League clashes was an appetizer for Sunday’s top of the table clash between Global Smartmatic and Air Force Rider as Global earned a draw against Army Fritz and Macziol while Air Force ran riot over Kaya Smart.

Global drew with Army
In the first match of the evening, Global were keen on extending their lead in the top of the table as they were able to grab hold of the lead with Izzo El Habbib scoring during the first five minutes of the match. However they were unable to capitalize on the lead as they were denied a second goal as Army was able to equalize during the second half through Meliton Pelavo forcing Global to settle for a draw instead 1-1.

Air Force hammers Kaya
Air Force continued their winning streak as they defeated Kaya 3-0. An early goal from Ian Araneta in the first half gave the Airmen the slight edge heading into half time as Kaya also tried their chances but were denied by the heroics of keeper Edmundo Mercado. Yanti Barsales and Chieffy Caligdong added a second and third late in the second half to seal all three points and remain undefeated.

With the result, Global still sits at the top of the table while Air Force trail behind them only separated by a goal. Come Sunday will be a decider on who will take the lead as Global faces Air Force in the rematch of the UFL Cup Final. Kaya, on the other hand, will try to bounce off their setbacks against Army in the earlier game. Kaya v Army will start at 2:00pm followed by Global v Air Force at 4:00pm.
