Kaya v Global 05222011

The Global Smartmatic FC finally ended their draw-games streak as they have trounced Kaya Cignal FC in the main event of the LBC United Football League’s Super Sunday last May 22 at the University of Makati Football Stadium.

Conditions during the match were drizzly, and the field is slippery, thus it was difficult for both teams to goal. Kaya’s Anton del Rosario was not in the game, and Global’s William Guerridon was cleared to play. Guerridon had several attempts, but because of the condition, it was not translated to a goal.

However, in the dying minute of the regulation, Global’s Aaron Altiche kicked the boal from Kaya Goalkeeper Sadeghi Saba’s rebound, thus entered the goalpost and gave Global its needed goal. An extra time of two minutes were added, and tension between Guerridon and Armand del Rosario occured, but was averted immediately.

The win of Global still puts them alive and kicking to clinch the title, whether, as of this writing, Air Force Rider wins in their match against Army.
